Build Yourself Up

Highlighting the imperfections of others to cover your own shortcomings will never earn real respect. When you stay focused on someone else’s flaws, you only reveal what you are still battling within yourself. Criticism can feel like power in the moment, but it is usually insecurity wearing confidence as a mask.

If you want to grow, stop scanning for what is wrong in other people and start strengthening what is right in you. Choose self awareness over comparison and choose humility over judgment and choose growth over gossip. A supportive spirit builds trust, strengthens relationships and creates the kind of respect that lasts.

People often pick out the flaws of others to hide their own insecurities, but the truth is this. The fastest way to silence insecurity is not by pointing outward, but by doing the inner work. The need to criticize others is often the loudest sign you are still at war with yourself.
