Everything to Everyone

For a long time, I thought being helpful meant always saying yes.

Eventually, I learned that every yes costs something.

Time. Energy. Attention. Sometimes peace.

I still believe in helping people. I just understand now that saying no to something doesn’t automatically mean you don’t care.

Sometimes it simply means you’ve learned what deserves your yes.

You can care about people without giving everyone unlimited access to your time, energy and attention.
