Stop Marking Yourself Down

There will always be people willing to question your talents, minimize your gifts, or tell you what they think you’re worth.

The problem begins when you start believing them.

Sometimes people devalue you because of their own insecurities. But sometimes we make it easier by placing ourselves on the clearance rack, discounting our abilities, accepting less than we deserve, and waiting for someone else to recognize our value.

At some point, you have to stop allowing other people’s perceptions to become your definition.

Know what you bring. Develop it. Respect it. And don’t keep marking yourself down just because someone else doesn’t recognize what you have to offer.

If the value you place on yourself is small, don’t expect the world to raise your price.
