We spend a lot of energy trying to make everyone understand our decisions.
Sometimes an explanation is necessary. Sometimes it isn’t.
You can know why a choice matters to you without convincing everyone else that it should matter to them.
Make thoughtful decisions. Be respectful of the people they affect. Explain when an explanation is owed.
Then move forward.
Not every decision needs an audience, a defense, or approval. Some choices simply need to be yours. A thoughtful decision doesn’t become more valid because everyone understands it.
