Shift Your Focus

Some days, one problem can take up the entire frame. A frustrating conversation, a setback, something that didn’t go as planned and suddenly it becomes difficult to notice anything else.

But the problem may not be the whole picture. It may simply be the part you’ve been staring at the longest.

Shifting your focus doesn’t mean pretending challenges aren’t there. It means widening your view. Notice what’s working. Recognize what you’re learning. Pay attention to the people who are showing up, the opportunities still in front of you, and the small things that are going right.

You may not be able to change everything happening around you, but you can decide what gets most of your attention.

Sometimes a better day begins with looking at the same life from a different angle.

What you focus on gets bigger in your mind. Make sure you’re not giving the smallest problem the biggest space.
