2012 in Review
The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
4,329 films were submitted to the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. This blog had 15,000 views in 2012. If each view were a film, this blog would power 3 Film Festivals
Stand Out
A person who truly stands out from the crowd is someone who embraces their individuality with confidence and authenticity. They aren’t afraid to be unique, to let their true self shine, and to speak their mind even when it means going against the grain. Standing out doesn’t come from blending in or chasing sameness and conformity, but from having the courage to be different.
It isn’t always about a striking appearance. More often, it’s about the qualities that spark admiration such as integrity, character, kindness, and originality. These are the traits that make someone unforgettable and worthy of respect.
While you may not stand out every single day, making it a lifelong intention is powerful. Striving to be your authentic self will not only set you apart but also move you closer to achieving your goals and leaving a lasting mark on those around you. The world remembers those who have the courage to be original.
On the Road Again!
The road to success begins in the heart with a desire to be more than ordinary. It starts with a heart, mind, and soul that refuse mediocrity and reach for something extraordinary. This is the spirit woven into the roots of our nation’s heritage: ordinary people with big dreams who worked hard to achieve them.
Winners never search for shortcuts. They face the impossible and decide to pursue it with relentless determination. The road to success is narrow and often overlooked, while the road to failure is wide and easy. To succeed, you must plant your feet firmly on the foundation of your desire and let nothing move you.
Failure takes no effort, just give up on your dream and do nothing. But know this: while you hesitate, someone else is dreaming, working, and hoping you stay idle. The path to an average life is simple, but the path to greatness demands courage, perseverance, and sacrifice.
Before you take this road, count the cost. A month from now or a year from now will you still be pushing toward your goal? True success requires commitment to the long haul. Yet for those who endure, the road is filled with life, happiness, and the sweetness of victory.
So ask yourself: Are you ready to travel the road to success no matter the price? Embrace the journey, savor every step, and stay committed to fulfilling your heart’s desire. On the road to success, every obstacle is a test of your determination.
Be Different
Choose to live life differently and take any moment you experience in life to change the story you’re creating. Have faith in the process and strive to live your life according to who you are and what you want to accomplish.
Believe life can be what you make of it!
So……..
1. Dare to be different
2. Be creative.
3. Be curious.
4. Be passionate.
5. Be innovate.
6. Be a game changer.
7. Live life to the fullest.
8. Love unconditionally.
9. Never play by the rules.
10. Always strive to “Stand Out.”
Rise…
Our circumstances are not what determine our happiness or unhappiness, it’s our attitude toward them and the way we choose to respond. Life will always bring challenges, obstacles and unexpected turns, but what truly matters is the mindset we carry into those moments.
Every day we are given the choice to rise above our circumstances or allow them to hold us down. Choosing to rise means refusing to be defined by hardships and instead using them as stepping stones to growth and strength. Happiness, peace, and fulfillment are not found in perfect conditions, but in how we decide to face imperfection with courage, resilience, and hope.
Never allow your circumstances to define you, let your attitude, character, and determination tell the world who you truly are. Circumstances don’t define you, your attitude and how you rise above them does.
I Like Nonsense!
I like nonsense. Not because it always makes sense, but because it frees the mind from taking life too seriously. Nonsense has a way of lightening the load, breaking through the ordinary, and reminding us that laughter and play are just as important as discipline and responsibility.
Too often, we get caught up in the seriousness of life, deadlines, goals, responsibilities and expectations. We convince ourselves that everything must be logical, structured and perfectly aligned. But the truth is, nonsense gives us balance. It allows us to breathe, to smile and to step outside the heavy box of “what must be.”
Nonsense inspires creativity. It allows us to see the world through different eyes, where the impossible suddenly feels possible. It’s in those silly moments, those random laughs and those “this doesn’t make sense but I love it” experiences, that we often find new ideas, new energy and new joy.
I like nonsense because it reminds me not to take myself too seriously. It keeps me grounded in the simple truth that joy is not always logical. Sometimes it’s goofy. Sometimes it’s unexpected. Sometimes it’s nonsense and that’s perfectly okay.
So go ahead and embrace it. Laugh at something that doesn’t make sense. Enjoy the silliness of the moment. Because in a world that constantly demands seriousness, nonsense might just be the most sensible thing you can embrace. I like nonsense. It wakes up the brain cells and opens doors to laughter, creativity, and joy.
Life 101
Life comes with no manual, but along the way we learn timeless lessons that shape how we live, love, and grow. Some truths are hard, others comforting, but together, they remind us what really matters.
-
Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good.
-
When in doubt, take the next small step. Progress is better than standing still.
-
Don’t waste time on hate. Life is far too short.
-
Stay connected. Your job won’t hold your hand when you’re sick, but your family and friends will.
-
Be wise with money. Pay off those credit cards and start saving early.
-
You don’t always have to win. Sometimes peace is found in “agree to disagree.”
-
Share your tears. Healing often happens when you cry with someone.
-
It’s OK to get angry with God—He can handle it.
-
Make peace with your past. Don’t let it rob you of your present joy.
-
Don’t compare yourself. Everyone’s journey is different.
-
Remember: everything can change in the blink of an eye—but God never blinks.
-
Simplify. Keep only what is useful, beautiful, or joyful.
-
Resilience matters. Whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
-
Don’t wait to enjoy life. Use the candles, wear the nice clothes—today is a special occasion.
-
Happiness is your responsibility. No one else can create it for you.
-
Forgive, always. Not for them—for your own peace.
-
Give time, time. Most things heal if you let them.
-
Don’t take yourself too seriously. Nobody else does.
-
Show up. Don’t just audit life, live it fully.
-
Growing old is a gift. Celebrate it.
-
Your children only get one childhood. Make it count.
-
Love is what truly matters in the end.
-
Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting in plain sight.
-
Envy steals joy. You already have more than enough.
-
No matter how you feel—get up, dress up, and show up.
-
Life may not come wrapped in a bow, but it’s still a gift.
